ABOUT THE HIVE
We opened in Cabrera, Dominican Republic during the pandemic of 2020/21. We have spent 3 years developing our programs, building wonderful relationships with our community and finding out who the most inspiring experts are. When we go on excursions and adventures, we learn with local people, we directly support their businesses and we contribute knowledge that we've acquired in other parts of the world to their projects too. It is a beautiful exchange that strengthens us all. " In the long history of humankind (and animal kind, too) those who learned to collaborate and improvise most effectively have prevailed" Charles Darwin.

The Hive methodology facilitates the cross-pollination of ideas and expertise by bringing groups together around a shared objective, so that everyone is empowered to be the change they want to see. Our mission is to help create an environment for learning and growth that is built upon shared knowledge & co-creation. That is why every family that joins the Hive contributes a percentage of their fees to our scholarship fund. We work with 5 local schools and offer FREE places to the most passionate students. We want The Hive to be accessible to everyone who wants to contribute positively to people and planet so, where possible, we also offer bursaries to passionate worldschooling families too.

The purpose of The Hive is to create transferable knowledge (honey) so that the benefit is felt locally and globally as we continue to travel and cross-pollinate again and again. Just like bees!

That's what it means to us to be regenerative. To create abundance, add more life and vitality and share it as far as we can with as many as we can.

We run programs for children, families, young adults, professional teams - all humans who want to be come changemakers and make a positive impact on this world.

We have received donations and funding from the Starr Trust, A Voice For Nature, Aman hotels, Playa Grande, Hive families and some Hive students raised $5k to provide more scholarships to local children!
Every time we clean a beach, or plant a fruit forest or design a solution to a global challenge we make sure that the impact of all those new skills, knowledge and relationships is felt here first and foremost.
